The City of Cologne, Germany, has deployed the world’s most comprehensive turn-by-turn parking guidance system, leading the way for cities globally to reduce parking search times, traffic congestion, and emissions. Now, leading U.S. cities are learning from this and other innovations and deploying similar smart city solutions. We will take a deep-dive into how Cologne reinvented its arrival experience, explore the before and after effects with feedback from citizens and the data gathered by the city. We will also share how Cologne marketed the solution to residents to maximize utilization and ensure citizen satisfaction. Finally, we will extrapolate a set of best practices for how a U.S. city can achieve similar results.

Attendees will:

  • Describe goal-setting strategies for smart city projects and learn how to prioritize investments.

  • Recognize the real-world impact that can be realized from improved parking search.

  • Review best practices for deploying parking guidance within a city.

PIE 2021 will lead us into the new decade with a focus on the Parking Experience and how Collaboration will make it better for the industry and its customers.

Our Seminars are a bit different this year – Coming off the Pandemic, the industry needs all the information it can get.

We have reached out to experts in our industry. You may be a bit surprised to find that we reached out to YOU for a call for speakers. You are the experts. You bring knowledge to share. You are the ones on the front lines and know the problems and solutions.

Yes, we have seminars on emerging technology, and what is going on with TNCs, self-driving cars, and garage construction. Yes, we have expert speakers on topics that fill your needs.

BUT – we also have seminars designed around you, the attendee. Come to a session and find yourself on a panel of experts – well why not. No preparation needed. You have spent a lifetime preparing. Tell your story, interact with the audience, bring new ideas. A leader will guide your group through the discussion. Not up for prime time, sit back in the audience and listen. Who knows, something may come to mind and you too will feel it’s time to participate.

Check the Schedule at a Glance to see what we have so far.

As always, PIE seminars will not conflict with trade show hours. You will have the opportunity to meet potential customers and present your wares and services. Our networking events are places where you meet attendees in relaxed sessions. Every day, more networking – Coffee in the morning, Breaks at midday, and cocktails in the evening. You skip those events at your peril.

Parking Scotland Conference 2021

Parking .png

Annual Parking Scotland Conference will be held virtually on the 3rd and 4th March 2021.

To kick off 2021, the British Parking Association is presenting the Parking Scotland Conference. This virtual conference will bring together professionals from across the parking sector for two days of thought-provoking content.

Whether you reside in Scotland or not, the conference has been designed to ensure there is something for everyone. You’ll find sessions focused on the practical questions facing Scottish authorities right now, including pavement parking, use of camera technology and issuing PCN’s for foreign vehicles.

Other sessions will focus on wider industry considerations such as planning for future parking demands, sustainable transport, EV and pricing policy. Now, more than ever, it is important that we come together to offer support and solutions, as we look to a brighter future for the parking sector. The conference is FREE to attend, but we ask, if you can, for a donation to the BPA members’ chosen charity Macmillan.

Our Sales Manager UK and Ireland, Chris Heddle, will take part on the Panel about Sustainable Travel which is taking place at 10-11 GMT on the 4th March.

This is the Session overview: Air quality has vastly improved as a result of the pandemic, but how do we continue to build upon the reduction in emissions and what role does the parking sector play? This session will explore some of the possible solutions including active travel and the Park Active initiative, alternative fuel types and ways to nudge and reward greener travel choices.

The conference is FREE to attend. Click here - For the full programme and registration links.

Streetlights can achieve the impossible: Lower Emissions and Improve Quality of Life while Growing Revenue

Streetlights can achieve the impossible: Lower Emissions and Improve Quality of Life while Growing Revenue

When: 19 November 2020

From: 10 - 11 AM (PCT) / 7 - 8 PM (CT)

Where: Zoom

Expected audience: Representatives of utility companies and cities or anyone else

who is interested in the topic.

Spoken language: English

How to join the event:

● Itai Dadon, Global Head of Smart Cities, Itron

● Thomas Hohenacker, CEO, Cleverciti

● David Parker, COO, Cleverciti

Sign up here before 9.59 AM on November 19th

Streetlights have extraordinary strategic importance in the development of smart

cities as they ‘overlook’ essential properties of a city: on-street or surface parking

spaces, delivery and drop-off zones, e-charging stations, as well as no parking

zones such as fire hydrants.

Meanwhile, parking search traffic causes up to 30% of all inner-city traffic. Smart

parking solutions provide the data and guidance required to help cities reduce traffic

and emissions and increase parking and shopping revenue while allowing drivers to

enjoy a smooth, stress-free arrival experience.

Each streetlight has a staggering ability to manage $80K-$400K in annual revenue

potential for a city. How? Cleverciti’s streetlight-mounted AI sensor can typically monitor 10-50 parking spaces, whereas each parking space has an annual revenue

potential of about $8,000.

For utilities, generating valuable data via existing streetlight assets opens new

opportunities to generate revenue while making cities more livable by reducing traffic

and emissions. Higher parking turnover and increased compliance helps local

retailers to attract shoppers and grow their businesses.

In addition, with the growth of delivery vehicles, managing the curb has become a

crucial challenge: avoiding double parking and monitoring dwell times of delivery

vehicles in dedicated loading zones improve traffic flow and safety.

This webinar will dive deep into crucial topics for the evolution of smart cities:

● How utilities can enter the data business by leveraging their streetlight assets

● How to effectively manage the curb to make the best use of this valuable real

estate while improving safety and congestion

● How to make cities more livable by reducing traffic and emissions with smart

Join Cleverciti, the leading smart parking solution, and Itron, the world leader in

smart city solutions, delivering critical infrastructure to help utilities and cities manage

energy and water” to gain insights and examples of how cities and utilities can manage

their on-street assets in a highly efficient way and turn data generated directly at each

streetlight into a valuable smart city revenue driver.

Sign up here before 9.59 AM on November 19th and we’ll see you there!
